The Beginning of Spring 1459

Has the Pope gone mad?

A mysterious and alarming process seems to be going on in the Vatican City. Legates are pouring out of the city, cardinals with flapping robes are running around in loggias...our usually reliable sources whisper that the mental balance of pope Pius has been severely disturbed and his grasp of reality is faltering. We are closely watching the tragedy which seems to be unfolding in front of our very eyes.

Letters to the Editor

We have received some cryptic declarations and exhortations:

A Dream

Lo and behold! I saw a Cross hovering above three Lions, and a booming voice cameth from the Cross, thus saying: The licentious harlot of Babylon, whose name is the Blue Boot, wants to trample Chaste and Pious under her heel. Her toes have been torn asunder, but she still rageth rampant. Come ye faithfuls, LET US CRUSH THE BOOT!

Bitte retten Sie den Pabst!! Vielen dank!!

Hear us all you righteous Defenders of Christianity!

A horrible and appalling treason has been the fate of our worshipped and noble Ladislaus. His bane was his trust in his guardian, that ever-cursed servant of dark forces of Hell, Fredrick III. That snake in disguise betrayed his trustfull second cousin and that fall of our beloved Ladislaus was also the fall of our hopes of a great future of our sacred country. With his worthless treason Fredrick has earned himself a horrible death, a tenfold death in the hands of The Defenders of Christianity. Hear our oath we have taken by the holy grave of Ladislaus. We shall not rest before loathed Fredrick has got his judgement. We shall not rest before he is on his knees our flaming Blades of Justice against his heartless chest, blades eager to drink his blood - and his cowardly petitions of mercy shall be in vain. We shall not rest before his black blood has been run to the abyss, to the place where his soul will be sent to be tortured for ever and ever alongside Judas and other traitors.

We are The Bane of Fredrick!

Pro Ladislaus
